Organized in 1952, the Montgomery Woman's Club remains dedicated to community service and to the promotion of cultural and environmental endeavors within the local area. For details on Montgomery Woman's Club activities click on banner segments above.

The club completed the evaluation of applicants for the Woman's Opportunity Grant and four grants were awarded. This is an annual opportunity and general details are in the

This featured Barry Scheck. His presentation covered the aspects of DNA technology and status of "The Innocence Project" both within USA and internationally. Local issues were also covered..

 

 

Rose MWC High School Senior and College Undergraduate Scholarship recipients were honored at April 15th program meeting.

    Seventh Grade Essay Contest: This essay contest is open to all seventh grade students who reside in the Sycamore School District.

    For rules and further information see the attached form

    Update: Essay winners are Joseph Ahn and Grace Hertlein, both of Sycamore Junior High School.

An enjoyable meeting and holiday lunch was combined with seasonal piano music.

In August 2009, members of the club assembled handmade Halloween cards for Randy’s unit

 

   At the November meeting the Club collected over $400 for the FRSA people to buy these items (it is cheaper than trying to mail the items). Donations by cash or checks made payable to HHC FRG are always welcomed.

 Decorating Downtown Montgomery with seasonal greenery and

bows is an annual activity for the Club in cooperation with the City.

Saturday Nov 14th marked this year's start with the preparation

Lori Borgman's ("I Was a Better Mother Before I Had Kids"), uplifting humor was enjoyed by all.

 

 

 

 TH LogoFirst Town Hall lectures, Oct 7-8th are over and general agreement was that Jack Hanna was a great success.

His message was assisted by some live animals from his own zoo (Columbus) and the local, much respected, Cincinnati Zoo.

Gerri Harbison, City of Montgomery Mayor, came to proclaim this, Sept. 14th,

Lazy Daisy Garden Club Day in honor of their 50th anniversary. More photos

 

 

 

 

The Club had a winning float in the city of Montgomery's 4th of July parade.

Fundraisers

Town Hall Lecture Series

The 2009-2010 series has been published with lectures occurring in October, November (2009), March, and April (2010). Those on the mailing list will have received their application forms in the mail. If you were not on the mailing list for the 2009 -2010 series, you may apply for a ticket by visiting the Town Hall page. Antiques and Art Show

The 37th annual Antiques Show was held on Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd, 2009. New this year was the addition of an Art Show and Sale by local artists. Please check out the Antiques Show page for full details of future shows and to see photos from many Antiques Shows in the past. Bastille Day

In July the club supports the annual Bastille Day celebrations in Montgomery. A raffle is held with many prizes generously donated by local merchants.

Finery and Fleas

The annual upscale flea market, with significant finery, takes place on a Saturday in the Fall at Sycamore High School, 7400 Cornell Rd, Montgomery (directions here).

2009 event now set for October 31st.
