The May 19th program covererd memories of wartime life in the British Isles by 3 ex-Pats.

The annual program celebrating the High School Senior and College Undergraduate Scholarship recipients was held on April 21st, 2011. Full program, recipients and photos can be seen on the Scholarship page and Current Information Webshots album .
MWC members represented the club at the 2011 OFWC Convention in Columbus. In keeping with the theme "Celebrate Reading", Linda Hengst, Excecutive Director, Ohioana Library Association, was the Saturday Luncheon speaker. At the Saturday Evening Banquet, the theme was continued with officers dressed up as famous authors, from Shakespeare to Maya Angelou. A good time was had by all! The Jennie award, display shown here, is given once in each 2 year administration to a clubwoman who has excelled in her club and community.

The club participates in an OFWC sponsored Poetry and Short Story contest. The Arts Department Chairman and other members enjoy reading the many entries from the Sycamore School area. These are the 2011 winners with MWC members. The top entries also won awards at the above convention
MWC members attended the Southwest Ohio District Annual Legislation Day meeting on March 26th,2011. Meeting was held at Incahoots Restaurant in Blue Ash.
Meeting was presided over by District President, Harriett Groh, with featured speaker former Ohio Senator Richard Finan.
The Club's Antiques and Art Show, March 19-20th, showed an increased participation by high quality artists and artitans. Full album of photos in Webshots
Christine Brennan, Sports Columnist/Broadcaster covered the topic: From the Sidelines to the Locker Room, in the March 23rd and 24th, 2011 Town Hall Lectures. She presented an interesting story covering her life as a school athlete through the beginning of Title 9 to the advent of female reporters across the spectum of sports media. During this period she aslo penned seven books.
The club's annual Holiday Luncheon was held at Kenwood Country Club on Dec 9th, 2010. Entertainment was provided by the Sycamore High School Touring Company.See more photos on Webshots album

November saw the annual Downtown Decorating Event. MWC members,along with the City of Montgomery, organized and were involved in the Fluffing of all greenery on Saturday November13th and Decorating on Monday November15th. Dan Abrams covered the subject On the Law and In the News for the November 17th and 18th, 2010 lectures. As a lawyer and media member he discussed the law from the jury's perspective as well as the views of media and public. Active Question and Answer session showed interest in the areas he covered.

September Program meeting covered the topical issue of local farm produce.
Bob Woodward, covered the subject From Nixon to Bush: What Obama can learn from Presidents Past for the October 13th and 14th, 2010 lectures.The very topical lecture was very well received by the large audience.

The club completed the evaluation of applicants for the Woman's Opportunity Grant and four grants were awarded. This is an annual opportunity and general details are in the
celebration in downtown Montgomery. Members sold tickets for various prizes..

This featured Jane Bryant Quinn (columnist/author) with her talk, "Making the Most of Your Money".
Her clear presention and relaxed deilvery style made for an enjoyable and educational lectutre.

The Club's annual Holiday Luncheon was held on Thursday 17th Dec, 2009 at Kenwood Country Club.An enjoyable meeting and holiday lunch was combined with seasonal piano music.

Pictured here are Captain Randall Linnemann (right) and Captain George Seiler. Randy is a former recipient of Montgomery Woman’s Club Senior and College Undergraduate Scholarships. Randy’s sense of humor always added greatly to our enjoyment of the Scholarship Awards meetings. Since making the Army his career, Randy has risen to the rank of Captain. His unit, C Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion Mountain Division (Light Infantry) is stationed in Afghanistan. We are very proud to know Randy.
In August 2009, members of the club assembled handmade Halloween cards for Randy’s unit
to send home to their children, and plan to support them further with the little extras that help
to keep them in touch with home. In Sepember the members handmade Thanksgiving cards for
Randy's unit. See volunteers at work!
Update: Randy's Company is now coming home. He quotes: "Our single soldiers come home to an empty barracks room that resembles a college dorm before move in day.We try to get toiletries and sheets for them; my First Sergeant and FRSA (Family Readiness Support Advisor) are the best to give you advice on how to help with this issue." At the November meeting the Club collected over $400 for the FRSA people to buy these items (it is cheaper than trying to mail the items). Donations by cash or checks made payable to HHC FRG are always welcomed.
Decorating Downtown Montgomery with seasonal greenery and
bows is an annual activity for the Club in cooperation with the City.

A very successful Finery and Fleas was held on October 31st. Our chairmen were pleased with the results.
Lori Borgman's ("I Was a Better Mother Before I Had Kids"), uplifting humor was enjoyed by all.
First Town Hall lectures, Oct 7-8th are over and general agreement was that Jack Hanna was a great success.
His message was assisted by some live animals from his own zoo (Columbus) and the local, much respected, Cincinnati Zoo.

Events of 2008-2009 club year
A successful scrapbooking event, Crop the Holidays, was held at the Edwin Greene Intermediate School on January 17th 2009 (all day event). Look out for this being an annual occurence. The attached photo shows the area available and people involved.( More info in album)
A very successful Antiques and Art Show was held on March 21st and 22nd at the usual Sycamore High School venue. The new format was deemed a success. Look for a similar show and sale next year. See more photos of the antiques and art on the 2009 Antiques and Art Show Webshots Album
On April 2nd the club hosted, as an annual event, the Sycamore High School International Students' Luncheon for 37 students from 11 countries.(More photos in album)
